Salem, MA- Kelleher Construction Company, Inc. of Beverly, MA is providing general contracting services to the Salem Mission for the interior and exterior renovations of the former St. Mary’s youth center located at 56 Margin Street, in downtown Salem, MA.  The renovations to the existing two-story, 8,600 square foot building will include the installation of a two stop electric wheelchair lift, new operable and fixed exterior windows, structural floor and roof system upgrades, and a newly ducted air distribution system.   

The newly renovated facility will serve as the new home for the Salem Mission’s homeless shelter and food programs.  The facility will incorporate offices, a kitchen, and a dining area on the main level, with sleeping quarters and full, barrier free bathroom facilities for both men and women located on the lower level.  The shelter will be the first of three buildings to form the Salem Mission’s Seeds of Hope campus on Margin Street. 

The Salem Mission is a faith-based outreach ministry of the Open Door United Church of Christ located at 56 Margin Street, Salem, MA.  Winter Street Architects, Inc., of Salem, MA is the project architect.  Kelleher Construction Company, established in 1912 provides pre-construction, general contracting, and construction management services to commercial, industrial, and institutional clients throughout New England.
